Outside Fun

Papaw & Grandmaw are here this week and today we all went to my playgroup. Papaw became EVERYONE's papaw today and I think he had more fun than me. We went to this really fun park and then we all had a picnic lunch.

Must try to blog more than once a month

Mommy and Daddy really need to try to blog more than once a month. (Thanks for reminding them, Uncle Pete!)  Meanwhile, this should get you caught up on what I've been doing since we took down the Christmas lights and had our cool Gator party:

Daddy went to Athens in mid-January. Athens, Georgia, that is. That's where the University of Georgia is. We don't like their football team very much (Go Gators! Go Tebow!), but Daddy says their School of Music is OK. They hosted a honor band festival. While he was there, Mommy and I got to go on a few dates, just the two of us. It was fun.

A few weeks after that, we all went to Savannah! Daddy went to a statewide music conference, and Mommy and I had fun in Savannah visiting old friends. I was very popular at our old church in Rincon, Grace Community Church.

The weather has been cold, then warm, then cold, then hot, then cold, then warm again. One a few weeks ago, when it was warm, Daddy taught me how to pedal my new train that Paw-Paw gave me for Christmas. (Video coming soon, Daddy promises!)

Do you like my engineer hat? We bought it at the zoo. (No idea why they had train hats at the zoo.)

We really haven't been doing much of anything at all since we got back from Savannah.
Today is Valentine's Day, and since none of us are fat enough, we are having chocolate. Mommy made a double-decker brownie with icing and sprinkles! Daddy got his usual pile of Reese's hearts. This year I helped Mommy make a card for Daddy. He really liked it.

My new favorite TV show is: SUPER WHY! If you don't know this show, the theme song is very catchy. But my favorite is the Super Why Alphabet Song:

December 2008

What a month!!! On the 18th we had a fun get-together at our house for a "Hank's Birthday / Christmas Party" Here's the yummy cake I made
Then, on the last day of school before the break, the band adopted a family for Christmas and they came over to get their gifts...here's Jacob and one of the little boys - future band directors?
and then..... Jacob got the croup and we ended up in the hospital for a night on the 21st.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I had a "really cool" Christmas morning. Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma are cooking up a storm with the traditional Christmas goose and plenty of other yummies. Here's a few pics of the morning's highlights; more to come! Merry Christmas!

I enjoyed my "choo-choo" from Paw-Paw

And I got a new bike from Pa-Paw and Grandma!!

Uncle Pete: Your gift came in very handy! We used it right away (along with an early gift Mommy got). Daddy says it's REALLY COOL!

Back home

We are back home after a night in the hospital. Jacob is feeling much better, although he's not quite 100% yet. The doctor said it will be another day or two before he is no longer contagious. He gets some medicine for the next few days. Meanwhile, he's having fun running around the house and playing with Grandma and Papaw!

Jacob in the hospital

Hello everyone,
Jacob is spending the night in the hospital for observation. He is wheezing and really working hard to breathe. We took him to the doctor this afternoon, and when he didn't respond to a breathing treatment in the office, the doctor admitted him to the hospital.

As of right now everything is completely treatable, and the doctor and hospital staff are not worried. He is receiving breathing treatments and is already responding positively. He gets to spend the night under a tent -- hopefully we can convince him that it's fun!

Anyway, we'll write more when we know more.

Hank

Playgroup Fun

Last week we had playgroup at the mall. The kids didn't even realize that we didn't put any quarters in the "rides" - they had alot of fun :)

Isn't the tree awsome! Jacob loved the train running through it.. When the train gets to the top it takes off on a track that runs the length of the mall... very cool :)

I just uploaded about a zillion pictures from our week in Nebraska. Jacob and his cousin Ben had quite a time playing at Ben's house on the piano, playing with all the toys and playing the Wii too. While we were there we visited the Zoo twice! We also went into Omaha Thanksgiving night to see them turn on the Christmas lights in the city. The next night we went into Papillion (the suburb Pete & Jen live in) and did all the fun stuff they had....we saw Santa, got free hot chocolate and popcorn, took a carriage ride, heard choir and band and stayed warm by the bonfire...We had a blast! So - for those who were not with us - enjoy all the pictures. I had a hard time deleting them -but I really did delete some :) We are looking forward to a busy December with church stuff, parties, family coming, and all the stuff that goes along with Christmastime. Merry Christmas everyone!

Umpah

This past weekend I went down to Florida to visit my Great-Grandfather. We all call him Umpah. I had so much fun with him and Nana-Jan. Umpah taught me how to color in the lines! We colored 2 pages in my "choo choo" coloring book. Mommy took video of it. Hopefully you will get to see that video on my blog real soon.

Love, Jacob This is me and Nana-Jan reading my favorite book "Dogs Colorful Day". She read 5 books to me this day and we also went to the park by their house. Jan pushed me on the swings and watched me go down the slides. We had such fun!

Here's the latest pictures on Jacob's album

Go Gators!

I almost forgot to post this picture of Jacob in his Gator jersey. Thanks Ms. Mary Ann! Jacob also loves to take apart his bike. He takes the handles and the horn off - then puts them back together. Maybe he'll be a mechanic when he grows up? :)

Here's me in my cool cat shirt Aunt Baby made me for Halloween
Here's me with Miss Manda and Mr. David at the last football game. As you can see, they live in a "house divided". All our Florida friends will understand :) I LOVE to climb the steps at the game. I'm gonna miss that..
