my little "monster"

Jacob is not 2 yet - but has been acting like it lately!!! He has forgotten how to listen and obey (or maybe he was just pretending all along? hmm...) :D I love cookie monster on the side but do wish I could scoot himn over so you could see more of him. oh well...this blue is my absolute favorite color too!!

Funny from yesterday. Jacob's wagon is parked inside the house. On occasion, he runs over and climbs in and plays with some of his toys... Yesterday he climbed in, closed the door, tried to buckle himself in and pointed to the door and yells "go!!" and started shaking the wagon back and forth. So - I honored his request and we went on a ride up and down our street.

This is for you Uncle Bill

We got this cool Purdue shirt a long time ago from Cousin Andrew Reese. I finally grew into it. I have quite the collection of collegewear. Florida, Lehigh, LSU, McNeese, Purdue. Guess I need shirts from KY and UT. (don't tell daddy - he's still having issues with me wearing the LSU shirt last week)

The rest of the pictures..

Happy New Year everyone!!! Mommy just finished adding the rest of the pictures from our trip to Louisiana. Check my picasa album to see. Here's me in my LSU shirt. It was hard for daddy to let me wear it - but Mommy insisted that we support the home team (this year at least).

New place for Jacob photos online

Tammy set up a new place online for Jacob pics. Click here to visit Jacob's new album on Picasa. There is also a link on the sidebar on the right.

For Grammy

Apparently Grammy wanted Cousin Ben and me to make handprints for her at Turkentucky. Well, we got distracted, and I guess she forgot, because Mommy and Daddy found two handprint kits with plaster and a mold in their room after they left.
So Mommy and Daddy brought the kit home, and today we made my latest handprint. As you can see, I didn't like it AT ALL! The plaster was all squishy, and Daddy was holding my hand down in it. He wanted me to be still, and of course I didn't want to do that.

Somehow Daddy managed to get me to hold still long enough. I sure wish Grammy was here to do it, though. She is much more gentle than Daddy!

sleepy head

Yesterday we put Jacob in his crib for some playtime. We started doing this every day so he can learn to play better by himself with his toys and it gives me a chance to get a bath in private :) So, we put him in there and usually we hear all kinds of noise as he "talks" to his toys and makes a racket. It got quiet and this is what we found. All the toys were on the ground and drool on the crib :) PS - Aunt Laura we still love our Turkentucky shirt!

new things

Last night Hank came home with this horsey. He used it's sound effects in his concert. I put it with Jacob's toys and let him find it this morning. I showed him how to press the ear and it makes a trotting sound - then "neys". It didn't take long for this to become his new favorite thing.

Jacob has also been warming up to his little bike that we got eons ago. He now climbs on and rides around the house - he finally sits down on it to make it go - up till now, he's been "walking" it around the house :)

And..... I have been working with Jacob on sign language until he decides to speak some words we can understand :) He has learned "all done" when he's in his highchair. We also pray before we eat and he holds his hands together while we pray. And today - he is signing "please" for when he wants more - or wants anything. We are tired of the grunting and pointing - so this is working much better :) Yay Jacob!

the little charmer

Jacob was a little turd for most of today. He wouldn't eat his veggies and threw a royal fit. So after some screaming - he calmed down and then became real playful. He even said "ma ma ma" - but that was it - one time. Tried to get him to say it again and, of course, he looked at me with a big ole smile and proclaimed "DA DA DA!!". That's what he usually does. Just because I want him to say it - he will definitely say the opposite. Anyway - here's a cute pic of the ham-bone child of ours.

Fun at the park

Today was such a beautiful day....took Jacob to the park to explore the playground, sticks and acorns. He tried to eat a few...I also had fun with "Hank's" new camera :) I have figured out how to take black/white pics. It has so many features - stay tuned for more creative shots as I learn more features.

I had to leave the room (and laugh)!

Yesterday Jacob got into his diapers AGAIN! So I decided to try a "time out" and see if he could get a clue that this was NOT a good idea in the future. So, I took all the toys out of the crib and put him in there - gave him the "mommy face" and sternly told him to sit down and I closed the door. A few minutes later I hear a banging on the wall (his crib is right next to the wall). So I go in there and he's holding on to the rails and bouncing up and down having a grand ole' time. I immediately had to leave because I could not help but smile and laugh. I'ts our own fault as we sorta taught him that bouncing on our bed was fun if he held on to the footboard. Oh well - guess you had to see this to get how funny it was - but just thought I'd share with you. I'll get this parenting thing down one day :)

Thanksgiving in Kentucky

What a fun trip to see Aunt Laura & Uncle Pete in Kentucky. I got to hang out with my cousin Ben and play in leaves, go to the park, play with Aunt Laura's dog Hannah, eat pumpkin bread and cake from Grammy when no one was looking :), run laps in the house on the hard wood floors and make lots of noise. Oh yeah - and I watched some football too. Here's me and my cousin Ben. He gave me lots of "hugs" that turned into headlocks Here's daddy and me in our 5K shirts that we wore the morning of Thanksgiving. Grammy drew the rocking horsey and Aunt Laura had it put on shirts for me and Ben.

Uncle Pete Crawford put this tattoo on me without daddy knowing. When mommy changed my clothes the first night - here it was! Daddy says if secret tatoos are what it takes for Kentucky to lose every week, then please send the rest of the tatoos. Do they also work for basketball?
We didn't take many pictures with our camera - but I did post them on Jacob's website - there are only a few if you want to check them out.

stripes

For those who don't know, my mommy LOVES horizontal stripes! She has lots of shirts that are "stripy" as she calls them. Today she got me these cool new shoes. Actually Papaw & Grandmaw are gonna "buy" them cuz my Papaw is my official shoe buyer. He's been getting me the coolest shoes ever since I was little. So, here's me in my new shoes

This is me in my "stripy" sweater. I really did have a good day, despite my non-smile. I think mommy was in shock that I actually stood still for a picture. Mommy says I'm cute even when I don't smile. :)

it got reallly quiet...

It was extremely quiet yesterday for a bit.... I went down the hall to find Jacob doing this...Oh boy.... After I snapped the picture - then I expressed that this was a "no-no" - but the image just cracked me up.

new things

I've been busy this week. I "helped" mom organize her cookbooks. I looked through EVERY one of them.. It was fun.. Then mommy made me put them all back.

Daddy got a new keyboard for work so he gave his old one to me. It's so cool!! I just LOVE to press the demo button and turn the volume up all the way. Then I stand on top and dance. It's alot of fun :)

It's Fair Time Again

Tonight mommy and daddy took me to the fair. I really had fun riding on daddy's shoulders and looking at all the lights and games. It was real noisy and stinky. They had animals. That was the best part - oh yeah and daddy shared his funnel cake with me. Here's mommy and me.

Daddy let me sit in the mini monster truck

This camel tried to eat daddy as he thought we had some food for him

We sat and listened to a couple playing country music. I really didn't enjoy it at all!

So, it's been a busy month. Check my website for the latest pictures from our trip to the Peanut Festival, the pumpkin patch, Halloween and the fair. Whew - lots of fun stuff!
