Catching Up

Wow, we haven't blogged in a while!
Guess we'd better get caught up.

In an earlier blog, you saw pictures from Jacob's birthday party. Tammy had a birthday in May, too, and Jacob always likes to help Mommy with her presents:

We already blogged a little about Vacation Bible School. After VBS, Papaw and Grandma came and took Jacob to Louisiana for a week. While he was gone, we started transforming his room into a "big boy room."

(This pic includes a Aunt Baby's special dinosaur pillowcase, so obviously this photo was taken after we got home from Arkansas. But you get the idea.)

Once we finished his room, we headed to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta to see Jersey Boys! It was incredible!

I thought this sign was interesting, and it was definitely true!

After an overnight in Atlanta, we headed directly to Lousiana to catch up with Jacob. Tammy and Jacob stayed there for a week while Hank headed to McNeese State University (about an hour further west). Hank was one of the instructors at MSU's band leadership camp. We worked with about 50 kids from high schools in Louisiana and Texas. Meanwhile, Jacob stayed busy at Grandma and Papaw's house:

Jacob even took a turn DRIVING Papaw's lawn mower!
He left a few marks on the driveway when he found out how to make it spin:

Next, it was north to Paw-Paw's house in Arkansas. We spent two weeks there.
We had fun in the pool,

helped Paw-Paw,
rode the train (of course),
visited the cool playgrounds they have,

and went to the Blues Festival at Riverfront Park!

It was fun. After two weeks, it was time to come back home. Once we got home, we had a very special doctor appointment. Apparently something is growing in Mommy's belly!
OK, it's true, we knew about it before we left. In fact, we confirmed the pregnancy the day we left for Atlanta. But we thought we'd keep it to ourselves until the ultrasound. Everything is healthy and normal! :) :) :)

This past week, Jacob took swimming lessons! He didn't like it very much at first, but about halfway through the third day he figured out how to do it, and now he's swimming like a fish!
