time off

Today I am thinking how thankful that I am enjoying a week off with all my boys AND my mom and dad.  We are having such a nice relaxing time.  Lots of little boy giggles in the house this week with Grandma and Papaw here!  I feel so blessed and to have Hank around more is awesome too :)  A nice break was needed by all.

it's the little things

Today I am thankful for friends who have pecan trees.  I enjoy picking them - cracking them and then baking with them YUMM...  It's great that I have two little pickers to help me too!

This week has been busy for me.  I had to get 3 different friends to watch Ryan so I could make some appointments.  Thank you Christina for allowing me to go to the dentist.  Thank you Susan for helping me attend a meeting and thank you Amanda for today so I could go to a school picnic with Jacob.  I do believe Ryan has crushes on all of you!

the 5 year old brain

Today I am most thankful for my sweet Jacob.  He's 5 and is really communicating with new words and more sentences these days.  But - some days he's still a little confused...Cousin Ben wrote him a letter and mailed it to Jacob.  So, we open it and read it and I tell Jacob that we need to write Ben a letter back.  He says "ooo!!  ok mommy what letter are we going to write to Cousin Ben?  R?  T?".   Such cuteness is Jacob some days...We did write Ben back and it is good handwriting practice for both of them.  I think they will be pen pals now :)  Love it!  

I am also thankful for Jacob's school and all the awesome teachers and administrators there.  This Friday is a school-wide picnic under the pecan trees.  I can't wait to go have lunch with him!

next week mom and dad are coming for a visit!  I am so excited :).  I could not ask for two people who love me, Hank and the boys as much!  They are truly a blessing to me and I never take for granted how awesome I have it!  I love you mom and dad!

Today I am especially thankful for my church.  So many awesome people there and how much I am learning and being challenged is awesome for me.  I never take for granted how awesome our church is and we appreciate it so much.  Great friends and loving people. Thankful for Sherwood..

Today is the most beautiful day here in SW Georgia.   I am thankful for this time of year when it's not too cold and not too hot and the leaves have finally started to turn brilliant colors.  Perfect weather to play outside!

an obvious day of thanks

Today is Veteran's Day and as I ponder being a military wife, I honestly don't know how I could to it.  I am thankful for men and women who go off to foreign lands for years at a time and miss births of their children, first steps, anniversaries and home cooked meals.  They give up so much! and I am truly thankful for the brave and willing military and their families.  Happy Veteran's Day!

today I'm thankful for...

Thanksgiving!!! It's my favorite holiday and it's 2 weeks away!  I love everything about it - a week off (so far at least - for my boys from school), making yummy food, reminding myself of how blessed I am EVERYday - not just on Nov. 24 and the weather is usually perfect around here at this time of year.  Thankful for Thanksgiving

Thinking back to long ago before I met Hank - how little did I know of how happy I would be today.  I love this man!!!  What a blessing he is to me and the boys.  Every day I love him more :)

those who teach

Today I am thankful for all those wonderful people who teach!  Jacob's teacher (Mrs. Anderson) is great!  We love her very much.  We are also for Jacob's Sunday School teachers (Mrs. Kendrick and Mrs. Tice)...and....on Wednesday's at church we are thankful for Mr. Shannon, Mr. Sean and Mr. Scott too!

silly sounds and giggles

Tonight after church we went to Taco Bell.  My goofy boys scarfed down their food and then begged for ours the rest of the time.  Once they gave up on that - they entertained us with making silly faces and sounds.  Today I am thankful for non-quiet meals out :)

CavityFest!

and then off to CandyFest we went. Jacob was a huge hit as this was very original and probably our best costume for him yet.

Ryan was a cute little s'more. He's quite squishy - so that's why he had to be a s'more. A screamy, don't want to wear this, run away s'more - but nonetheless - he was cute for a brief moment the night.

At CandyFest, glowsticks are the best! We have a funny video of him walking with his tent on. Will post that later.

Jacob

Last night we looked at some video of Jacob when he was about 16 months old.  Oh how I miss that chubby little boy in his early walking stages and that precious smile of his.  Today at 5 1/2 he still has that awesome smile and sweet heart.  I love this boy!!!  Thank you Lord for Jacob

it's the little things

Today I'm thankful for a power bill that was $100 less than the past 4 months!!!  SW Georgia is hot people - in case you didn't know...We love this time of year when the high's are in the upper 70's and lows in the 50's.  I am also thankful for friends who are very dear to our family.

What? you mean I should blog more often?....

Yes, we have slacked on the blogging.  October was crazy busy.  Hank was working for most of it and by the 4th week I was just tired with a capital T.  Anyway, I LOVE November and I LOVE Thanksgiving.  It has always been my favorite holiday and reminds me of how much I have to be thankful for.  I won't say I'm going to blog every day in November as I feel I should be thankful EVERYday - even when I don't blog about it.  But for today - I'll just say that right now at this moment I have a cute 20 month old Ryan who is in his bed supposed to be taking his nap.  Just checked on him and found that he had gotten his shirt off.  So there he is standing up in his jeans and no shirt and cute fat little belly poking out.  I am thankful that 20 months ago Ryan James came into our lives.  He's loud, playful and never met any type of meat he didn't devour!!  He makes funny sounds as he's trying to figure out how to say words - he even manages to "talk back" without words.  He also managed to break furniture even before he started to crawl.  But all that to say how much we love him just how he is and are so very thankful for him.  He's gonna do great things. 

I can't talk about being thankful with out also mentioning the other two boys in my life.  Hank means the world to me and he is the best dad the boys could ever want.  Jacob continues to make me smile as he is growing up to be such a sweet and smart little boy.  He always thinks of others and loves to share - even his Halloween candy!!  He remembers what your favorites are and offers them to you before he even takes for himself.  He is like his daddy and likes to serve others - for that I am thankful on so many levels.

Today - my hear is full and am thankful!
