Pictures from our trip

Uncle Pete and Aunt Jenni set up a Picasa Album on Google. You can view all the pictures from our trip to Florida there. Click http://picasaweb.google.com/carter.albums to go to the Carter albums.

In other news....Mommy and I are flying to Louisiana to be with Papaw & Grandma. Mommy's grandpa is very sick and is not getting better. We are going to stay for a week we think.

To the beach!

Here's some pictures from our trip to the beach this morning. It was cloudy so it was quite nice. We stayed for an hour or so and then Jacob fell asleep on the way home. Then he came home and slept for 3 hours. Guess he had a good time :) We sure did!

A Morning in Venice

We made it to Grandma and Grandpa's! :)
We drove down yesterday, with a pit stop in Gainesville to buy some new National Championship Gator gear!

When we woke up this morning, Grandpa told us that the alligator trappers had set a trap yesterday in their yard, and this morning it looked like there was a gator in the trap! The alligator had managed to get the trap line tangled with the ropes holding the rowboat to the dock. Jacob and I saw the alligator floating next to the boat. Meanwhile, Grandpa called the trapper and asked him to come retrieve the gator.

Apparently the alligtor decided to go underwater and try to get loose. In the process, he got caught up in the ropes, and he drowned before the trapper could get there. Here's some video of the trapper pulling the gator up out of the water:

I helped drag the gator up to the driveway, where they measured him. Then the trapper and I lifted the gator up into the back of his pickup. He was still "salvagable," since he hadn't been dead long. They had to drain the blood (no need to describe that process here, unless you want to see your lunch again), then off they went to Dade City.

So, it's been an interesting day!

Meanwhile, it's sooooo hot down here. (How hot is it?) It's so hot that Grandma and Grandpa actually have the a/c running! (Thank goodness!)

Can't wait to see everyone in a few days!

Poor Jacob

While we were on our trip last week, Jacob had fever most of the time. Once we got home, he seemed back to normal. Yesterday, however, he woke up with a nasty ear. Yep, we have our first ear infection. Yipee :/ Went to the Dr. today and he said it was so bad he couldn't tell if the eardrum was ruptured or not so we got drops and oral anitbiotics. Yay for crappy insurane and the tirp to Walgreens. Who knew the drops were made of gold? hmm.. go figure.... just about every kid in America gets at least 3-4 ear infections and probably use these same drops so I guess the Rx-makers make a ton of money off us poor sucker parents. Sorry -just venting a little-

Anyway, the funny thing is that since the ear is leaking now - it reallly doesn't seem to bother Jacob. He seems like his old self. Hopefully we can clear it up before the trip to Florida. We go back to the dr. after we get back to make sure it's all cleared up.

That's it from here. We're looking forward to the Florida trip. See you all soon!

Our trip continues

Hi everyone. We're in Jacksonville now visiting more friends. Jacob has had some sort of virus since we hit the road on Friday. He's had fever off and on and has been sleeping alot. We're hoping he'll be back to normal by tomorrow so we can at least have one day of "happy Jacob". Grumpy Jacob isn't much fun - especially in the car :( Oh well. We're having fun and Jacob's been a trouper through it all. We haven't taken any pictures. Sorry. We're looking forward to our trip to Umpah's in a few weeks!
